SHRM has always been the leading HR authority throughout the world, and we believe that the SHRM certification will continue to be the industry standard.  The SHRM credentials:  SHRM-CP (SHRM-Certified Professional) and SHRM-SCP (SHRM-Senior Certified Professional) focus on teaching and testing the practical, real-world information that HR professionals need to find success in their careers today!  The SHRM credential is the next-generation credential for HR Professionals – a competency-based certification – demonstrating that you know the facts and how to apply them in the workplace.  The TCSHRM Certification preparation course will teach to the global Body of Competency and Knowledge (SHRM BoCK) and prepare participants for the comprehensive exam

The course will be presented in the C.H. Robinson.  Complete directions and maps will be sent to all class participants.

Did you know that 75 percent of the reasons employees leave their jobs could be prevented by employers?  In the first scientific study of its kind, Work Institute analyzed more than 250,000 exit interviews over eight years, and we’ll share our most recent findings to help you prevent turnover in your workplace.

This session reveals the truth about the employee marketplace and separates fact from fiction when it comes to why employees quit – and it’s most often, not about money.  Unique, eye-opening insights from the 2017 Retention Report have been featured in USA Today, Forbes and HRDive.com.

    Learning objectives are:

    • Learn market dynamics that impact the ability of organizations to attract and retain talent.
    • Understand the top 10 categories of reasons why employees quit and what it takes to address these issues.
    • Develop confidence that most reasons for turnover are preventable and organizational leaders must be held accountable for retention.
    • Understand the importance of communicating market dynamics in your organization so organizations can modify or implement strategies to address market conditions.
    • Understand the pros and cons of using benchmark data to guide your retention strategies.
    • Get a scientifically proven methodology that consistently reveals the real reasons employees quit and consider current methods of collecting data from departing employees.
    • Learn a simple approach to calculate the cost of turnover in your organization and why it is important to track this critical metric.

This seminar will be presented by Danny Nelms, President of Work Institute, Franklin, Tenn.

As President at Work Institute, co-author of The why Factor: Winning With Workforce Intelligence, and experienced public speaker, Danny Nelms is an agent of change and an expert in helping companies forge new directions to optimize human capital and improve results.

Event Description: Be The Exception Annie’s Signature Speech highlights living outside of the traps of labels, characterizations, and job titles. Getting on the path to uncovering and expressing your authentic self is what makes your life’s journey rich.

Annie dives into the “7 ways of being” (honest, gentle, flexible, healthy, courageous, open and authentic) necessary to transform your life and live your true passion and potential.

Expect to learn the value of how “being” is often more important than “doing”. Let Annie uplift you with the awareness of how they could be just another “expert” in the world or they could “Be the Exception”.

Growing up as a middle child of seven children raised by a single mom, Annie Meehan learned tenacity and resilience at a tender age. The word “survival” took on many meanings in her younger years, developing within her a richly profound, fiery spunkiness.

At age 7, Annie was told she was dyslexic. She struggled with spelling and reading letters in the correct order to the point that when she was 21 years old, she was asked if she was illiterate. That never stopped the current professional speaker, business owner and author of three books from becoming all she was meant to be.

Annie’s professional speaking career began as soon as she left her first corporate job at Piper Jaffray and was a contract speaker for one of the top non-profits in the United States. Now as an author, a franchise business owner, wife, mother, certified coach, team support for 100+ Advocare distributors, and volunteer, Annie sprinkles into every presentation her personal and professional stories of new perspectives, faith, persuasion and pursuit.

From having no voice to speaking to thousands, her authentic, engaging presence and dedication to her audiences is unmistakable.

With a dedication and passion for new ways of thinking, shifting beliefs and choosing to overcome, Annie lives everything she teaches, giving audiences real-time useful ideas and actionable strategies.

Performance Management: Tips and Tools for Improving Performance Reviews by Julie A. Berg with The Amborn Group

Performance reviews play a key role in providing helpful feedback to managers and employees.  When conducted and written well, reviews have the potential to increase engagement and improve performance.  Yet, too often these important conversations and documentations fall flat.  Employees walk away unsure of what their manager really thinks or how they can improve their work - or worse, an inaccurate picture of their performance.  As HR professionals we can lead the change by coaching reviewers to create meaningful performance appraisals that benefit both the employees and the organization.

In this one hour workshop participants will: Receive practical recommendations for delivering useful performance reviews.  Learn elements which consitute valuable/relevant performance ratings and reviews.  Learn a method that provides useful feedback that enhances performance.

    Speaker Information:

As a senior consultant with The Amborn Group, LLC Julie knows that when experiencing challenges today, organizations need strategies that can be implemented tomorrow.  Whether it's individual, team or leadership development, Julie consistently focuses on practical applications that will do just that.  Effectively delivering customized strategies within small-to mid-sized firms, Julie's expertise in assessment helps The Amborn Group's clients get to the root cause of every issue and receive bulls-eye strategies that bring big value.

As a professional facilitator, coach and organizational development consultant with The Amborn Group, Julie holds a master's degree in Human Resources Development and is a graduate of The Coaches Training Institute.  She is also an Associate Certified Coach from the International Coach Federation, an active member of the American Society of Training and Development, as well as a member of the Minnesota Change Management Network and International Coach Federation.  In addition to her work with The Amborn Group, Julie also teaches Coaching Performance and Managing Performance Problems in the Supervision & Management Series at Normandale Community College and has facilitated Performance Management training for clients such as Agri Bank System in the Upper Midwest.  The Amborn Group is proud to have Julie A. Berg on our team.
