Trust that is cultivated and present in the workplace increases organizational morale, motivation, and momentum. Trust that is absent in the workplace leads to poor organizational communications, low team morale, low employee motivation, and high levels of employee disengagement. The good thing is - leaders can learn how-to create a trust-based culture that empowers colleagues and frontline employees to go from good to great and from chaos and conflict to communication.

Leadership coach and author of Leading with Greatness, Dr. Jermaine Davis will provide practical tips and strategies on how-to create a trust-based culture while helping your team and organization thrive and succeed.

The following topics will be covered in the Trust-Based Leadership presentation:

    • The two key ingredients of building and cultivating a trust-based culture as a leader
    • The five steps to rebuilding and regaining trust when trust is lost as a leader
    • The three root causes of team tension and workplace conflict
    • How to resolve team conflict and tension using a 3-step approach
    • How to prevent the #1 reason why leaders fail
    • Effectively agree to disagree without destroying momentum and morale
    • Develop a customer service attitude of excellence and optimism
    • Problem solve personally and professionally using the QBQ Approach
    • Beat burnout before it brutally beats you (Avoid the Wonder Wan and Superman Syndrome)

Dr. Jermaine M. Davis is Founder & CEO of Jermaine M. Davis Seminars & Workshops, Inc., a personal and professional development company that creates customized presentations, learning resources, and educational materials for individuals, teams, and organizations. Dr. Jermaine began his professional career as a snack food sales rep and a district sales manager within corporate America. During this time, he honed his expertise in creating culturally inclusive work environments, building high-performance teams, teaching leaders how to communicate courageously, and coaching employees on how to increase their levels of happiness and motivation so they can thrive and succeed in Life, School & Work. Dr. Jermaine founded Snack Attack Vending of Minnesota in 2003, a snack food company that specializes in helping individuals and companies satisfy their snack food cravings. After growing Snack Attack into a successful business, Dr. Jermaine decided to fully dedicated himself to his true passions of speaking, teaching, writing, and filmmaking.

One Man. One Bike. One Tent. Without a Doubt, One Heck of an Adventure!

This LIVE session is a unique and uplifting keynote that inspires audiences to strive for more than they ever thought possible - both professionally and personally and will contain a 45-minute live presentation through Zoom followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.

As an ordinary everyday person, he took a risk to do something extraordinary.  After 33 years of sales and executive level leadership, at the age of 57, as an untrained and inexperienced cyclist, he pedaled solo and unsupported out of Anchorage Alaska and into the complete unknown - all the way to Mexico, encountering “everything weird and wondrous North America had to offer”.

Jerry Holl isn’t most people, so he did exactly that. In his inspiring true story of resilience, strength, and overcoming fear, Holl reveals how his journey forever altered his life and why he embarked on it in the first place.

"I didn’t have the upfront know-how - all I knew is that willpower and tenacity would have to carry me.  This journey led to an incredibly productive new future that I never contemplated.  Your audience will be inspired to GO FOR IT - to take mindful risks and initiative leading them to incredible performance.  This keynote is inspiring, entertaining and 100% authentic!  It’s all told in a story format with lessons learned. Not too many folks have quit their corporate careers at age fifty-seven to embark on an epic adventure, especially when their most trusted companion is a bike they don’t know how to fix."

Jerry is an award-winning author, a dynamic speaker and a relentless optimist. His messages are entertaining, informative, inspirational and 100% authentic. He’s also an independent business consultant, and weekend warrior. He holds an engineering degree, an MBA, and has over three decades of sales and leadership experience. Jerry resides in Minnesota with his wife and has three grown children.

    Learning Objectives

    • Inspire the audience to ‘stretch’ beyond what they think they can do - unleash their true capabilities
    • Inspire a culture of service - although I pedaled alone, the service of others got me there
    • Find and draw out the very best in others and the performance of the entire team explodes

SHRM20 CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION CANCELLATION NOTICE

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – May 11, 2020: Regretfully, SHRM must cancel the SHRM 2020 Annual Conference & Exposition as we have recently been informed by the San Diego Convention Center that they will not be able to host us for this event.

This was a difficult decision, but it was based on directives from the state of California, the City of San Diego, and out of a need to keep participants and the community safe.

We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event. We know SHRM’s Annual Conference is the leading HR community event, and the entire global HR community looks forward to it each year. However, we know it is the right decision and we are confident there will be brighter days ahead as the HR community navigates our “new” world of work.

As we turn our attention to the future, we look forward to seeing you at our SHRM 2021 Annual Conference & Expo, June 20-23 in Chicago. It will be a time to reconnect and celebrate the extraordinary measures we will have overcome as leaders reshaping the new world of work.

    Registration Transfer

Your SHRM20 conference registration will be automatically transferred to SHRM21 in Chicago. Refund requests must be done by June 9, 2020 by contacting SHRM here. Please Note: All cancellations may take up to 90 days to process.

    Hotel Room Transfer

For attendees transferring registration to SHRM21: If you made original SHRM20 hotel reservations through MCI USA, SHRM’s official housing vendor, then your SHRM20 hotel reservation will be automatically cancelled and your deposit will be automatically transferred to a SHRM21 housing reservation. You will receive notification from MCI USA the week of May 18, 2020 with instructions on booking your new hotel accommodations in Chicago and transferring your deposit.

For attendees not transferring registration to SHRM21, but who made SHRM20 hotel reservations through MCI USA: You must contact MCI USA directly by emailing shrm@mcievents.com no later than June 26, 2020 for a full refund. Given the circumstances due to COVID-19, refunds may take up to 90 days to process.

If you made hotel reservations on your own, be sure to contact the hotel directly to cancel.

We thank you for your patience as we work through the details associated with canceling this large-scale event. In the meantime, please continue to be safe and healthy. See you at SHRM21!
