Northland HRA - Effective Communication In and Out of the Workplace

  • 14 May 2019
  • 11:15 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Holiday Inn Downtown Duluth

In this session we will explore communication, from asking questions with impact to expressing viewpoints in challenging situations. Participants gain awareness of their own listening skills, learn the components and benefits of asking generative questions, take-away a model to help differentiate thoughts from feelings, and will understand the importance of communicating the "why".

Amy Johnson graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with a Master of Arts degree in Management with an emphasis in Change Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management with a minor in Finance. Currently, Amy is finishing her Doctorate of Organization Development and Change at the University of St. Thomas. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the MBA Leadership and Change program at The College of St. Scholastica. Amy is also in an organization development role for the City of Duluth. She has a passion for increasing employee satisfaction and engagement in the workplace. For fun, she loves to sing, run, and horseback ride!
