LAHRA - Quarterly Connection - Hiring Felons, the do's and dont's

LAHRA Quarterly Connection

We will have a table discussion on Hiring Felons, the do's and dont's.  

Our facilitator will be Nicole Degidio from the MN Dept of Corrections and a fellow co-worker.  Nicole specializes in Juveniles, her co-worker will specialize in Adult felons.  Both will be able to share their professional and personal experiences in reintroducing offenders back to society and into the workforce. 

5 questions to discuss:
  1. Limitations on what a potential employer can ask.
  2. Legalities of hiring felons. 
  3. Industries that cannot hire felons. 
  4. Are certain "types" of felons better hires?
  5. Are there programs out there to help with cost share in training felons?
