Employers face a challenging world in which they must maintain a workplace free from sex-based harassment and bullying, particularly given that employers can be held responsible for harassing behavior by employees at all levels and by non-employees, such as customers. This session will address how to minimize the risk of harassment and bullying by establishing sound policies and consistently enforcing them with all employees, including executives. The presentation will also discuss how to respond if an employee claims that harassment has occurred or if the employer becomes aware of harassment, even if no complaint is made. Finally, the presentation will cover the public relations implications of harassment allegations and the associated response by companies and their boards, as well as the necessity of having a plan when crises arise.
