What an Employer Can and Cannot Do in Response to a Union Organizing Campaign

This webinar will review the employee rights and protections provided by the National Labor Relations Act. It will discuss union organization campaigns in general and the types of employee communications that are prohibited and permitted during a union organizing campaign. The webinar will also review what conduct is prohibited and permitted by both employees and employers during a union organizing campaign.

Three learning objectives:

  • Learn the employee rights provided and protected by the NLRA
  • Learn what types of communications to employees are permitted by the NLRA
  • Learn what types of communications to employees are prohibited by the NLRA

Cory's bio: Cory is MN SHRM’s Legislative Director.  He is a Partner with Gislason & Hunter LLP and is Chair of the firm’s Employment, Labor, and Benefits Practice Group.  Cory has been representing employers for two decades including in litigation, policy formation, and guidance on day-to-day employment issues.  His larger clients include employers in the fields of long-term care, banking, retail, and agriculture.  He presents several times each year on employment law and focuses on practical application rather than overly complicated legal theory.  In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening and tending to his small cattle herd; basically, any hobby that ends in a good meal.
